Measles Outbreak: Here’s what you need to know to protect your child
As many of you know, measles can be a deadly disease, killing one out of every 1000 people that get infected with measles. Our best protection against measles is being vaccinated. Routine vaccine for measles (the MMR) starts at 12 months old with a booster at 4 years of age. So far, the CDC has not recommended an accelerated vaccine schedule, but we will be watching the outbreak closely and keep you updated on any changes.
If your children are due for their 12 month or 4-year-old check-up, please get them in right away. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
